How will it make my life easier?

If you have an existing concessionary travel pass issued by Transport for Greater Manchester then you should already be using get me there.

You're probably already using your pass to touch in at a smart reader when you use Greater Manchester bus services. You now need to use it to touch in and touch out whenever you travel on Metrolink for free in order to validate your concessionary pass entitlement. For most concessionary pass holders you can travel for free any time after 9.30am Monday to Friday and whenever you like at weekends.

If you usually pay to travel on Metrolink before 9.30am you still have to buy a printed ticket at present. If you're travelling with a printed ticket before 9.30am you don't need to touch in and touch out as well.

You can create an online account to register your concessionary pass on the get me there website. Once you've done so, you'll be able to view your travel history and – if you're happy for us to do so – we'll be able to notify you when the next stage of get me there is introduced.

Register your concessionary pass now. If you want any help completing your registration, just contact get me there Customer Services on 03000 035 035 or pop into your local TfGM Travelshop.

Your existing pass is already set up to work with get me there and you're probably already using it to touch in when you travel by bus in Greater Manchester. You now need to use it to touch in and out on Metrolink too, in order to validate your concessionary pass for travel.

All you need to do is touch your pass to the yellow smart reader on the Metrolink platform at the start and end of every journey you make when you travel for free. Unless you get free travel all the time, you still have to buy a printed ticket to travel before 9.30am on a weekday. If you're travelling with a printed ticket before 9.30am you don't need to touch in and touch out as well.

Your existing pass is already set up to work with get me there. And you're probably already using it to touch in when you travel on most buses in Greater Manchester. You now need to use it to touch in and out on Metrolink too, in order to validate your concessionary pass for travel.

Although your pass entitles you to free travel on all modes of transport, the bus and tram operators are only reimbursed for your travel if they have a record of your journey.

On buses you are asked to touch in with your pass when you get on board. On Metrolink you will need to touch in and touch out at the yellow smart reader on the platform at the start and end of every journey.

Unfortunately you can't use your pass to make journeys on Metrolink and you'll need to buy a ticket. But your pass will still give you your national entitlement to free travel on all Greater Manchester bus services after 9.30am.

Unfortunately you aren't currently eligible for an igo pass, but you can get some discounts for bus and tram travel dependent on individual operators' fare policies. It's a good idea to carry proof of your age with you at all times so that you can prove that you are eligible for whatever discounts may be available.

You'll be able to start by buying smart versions of System One travelcards that will allow you to travel on any Greater Manchester bus service
