Download the app and use your phone as your ticket

Using the get me there app is perfect if you want to buy an adult ticket without queuing at a ticket machine.

It’s simple to get started:

  • download the free get me there app to your phone from the App Store or Google Play
  • set up an account and add a payment card or use your mobile wallet eg ApplePay or GooglePay
  • when you’re ready to travel, simply choose the ticket you need and make your payment through the app
  • your ticket will load and start automatically, so you need to make a single journey within 2 hours (unless you buy a ticket that is not valid for travel at the time you buy it eg an off peak or weekend ticket will start automatically as soon as it's valid for travel)

Tickets available on the get me there app:

  • adult single tickets for one journey within the zones you choose
  • adult saver 1-day travelcards – anytime or off peak
  • adult saver weekend travelcard
  • adult 7-day and 28-day season tickets – for unlimited travel within the zones you choose

Things to remember:

  • buy your ticket before you board the tram
  • you'll need to be able to display it on your mobile device if requested, in exactly the same way as you need to show a valid printed ticket
  • once you've bought it, and it is visible on your device, you don't need an internet connection to use your ticket

The technical stuff:

  • the get me there app is currently available to download free for Apple or Android smart phones (minimum OS version 7 for Apple, 4 for Android)
  • the get me there app is optimised for use on smart phones and works best on those devices
  • you can use the app on a tablet, however you will need internet access to buy tickets and you'll need your tablet with you for every journey
